Right on the mark, John. I'll share this.

Saw your comment on my comment on Bracing Views, and turned to your article. So very true, the billionaires pull the strings for the elected puppets. Actually, though, I don't believe they have actual ideologies (Red vs. Blue), because they win no matter which party wins. I think that they "take sides" as a form of propaganda to make the public think that there will actually be a difference between the two so that they call lull us into believing that our votes matter, keeping up the illusion of so-called democracy.

I just hope that Trump is a little less war crazed, but I am not holding my breath. I don't think we can fix this country until the billionaire problem is dealt with, but honestly, how do regular people deal with people who have billions of dollars? I wish I had an answer.

I believe that we need a general strike. Chris Hedges writes a lot about that. There is no easy answer, but I think something has to happen soon.

Jean, yes, there has to be organized, well disciplined resistance. However, (speaking as a once time professional community organizer), I find that most Americans have been too comfortable and/or otherwise unwilling to rock the boat or risk discomfort or further insecurity by joining in on a strike or other actions sufficient to perturb the system.

And with Trump's reelection, you can expect another apparition of "THE RESISTANCE" (tm) - merely another Team Blue advocacy group - to co-opt any meaningful challenges to the dysfunctional political-economic system itself and instead act as a force to keep the electorate divided along the red/blue line and their half ready to turn the White House blue in '28. I expect to see such group(s) emerge soon.

We'll be able to determine rather quickly if any real, systemic resistance arises, as distinct from the partisan faux resistance.
